RUPTURE - Installation 2023

Dark Arts x Gary Mackay propose an light installation drawing from Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland’s molten past - the volcanic foundations from which Auckland’s villa-lined streets were built on and from.

While these volcanic foundations may never be molten again, we look to other building materials we can “re-flow”. Corrugated roofing, a quintessential symbol of the kiwi home, provides the perfect medium.

Bending, twisting, and melting, Rupture subverts this rigid building material, making the streets molten once again.
